[Comments on the prize-winning work]
Inorganic matter is symbolized by glasses which are created in the 3D world, and various characters that seem as if they just jumped out of a toy box. A mysterious melody being played can be heard from such a world.
These images are something that hand-painting cannot fully express-- the images of strange glasses created by computer calculation, a tool called 3D. They look unrealistically shiny, and are having fun conversations with the characters. I tried to create a work that seems to deliver a cheerful melody floating along with languages from these images.

[Comments on receiving the Excellence Award]
I am extremely excited to have received such an honorable award for my artwork. In this prize-winning work, I tried to express the beauty of glasses, which are inorganic, shown in the concept of computer graphics, or in other words, a "fake," three-dimensional world. In a real world, such beauty of glasses cannot be easily found. I also added to this world some characters playing music. This work was finished as the completed form of a work I started creating about a year ago. That is why I was absolutely happy to receive this honorable award for it. I know the world of CG is quite deep and complex, and I consider myself to be still an immature learner in this field. I am determined to continue working hard, to create art with high quality. Thank you very much again.
