Thank you very much for selecting my artwork for one of the Honorable Mention Awards. I am very happy, and also absolutely stunned. While I regularly create movies instead of still pictures, I had lost confidence in my work in general, until I received this award. It has been a great encouragement for me.
As for my goal as an artist, I always try to come up with something with "cold" and illusionary sensations. In this particular artwork, I wanted to express a period of so many years being repeated over and over, during which birth and destruction are symbolized by the tree and the flame respectively. On the other hand, during this period of long years, the unchangeable Moon kept on lighting illusions of snow and flowers that are fading away. I would be glad if the audience can find such hidden meanings in this artwork. |
