[Comments on the prize-winning work]
By adapting digital techniques, I layered many drawings and patterns I had produced, on top of one another. The outcome was a beautiful layer of colors, a forest of colors that may remind the audience of the world of picture books.

[Comments on receiving the Honorable Mention Award]
As I had been hand-painting my artworks for a long time, I had rather rejected the idea of utilizing the "computer" for art creation. By using the computer, I was afraid I would lose my works momentum of sort, in exchange for gaining objectivity to it. However, to create my artwork for this competition, I used an effect that looks as if cellophane films were put on top of each other; and I also pasted textures. These are some interesting techniques that are unique to the computer. Indeed, the computer is profound. Actually, we have to be careful in utilizing it, for it sometimes shows its dangerous capability to "swallow" its human users. While there is nothing wrong with setting a goal to become a computer expert, I also feel that it is, in a sense, another important "technique" to maintain an appropriate distance between your computer and yourself.
