| Using a pen tablet, I imposed my will directly on the screen! I would love this work to carry the chaotic atmosphere of a festival. |
[On receiving the award] |
| I never imagined that I would receive the Excellence Award... I am extremely happy! I am so grateful to Toray for holding this contest. When I saw one of the thematic subjects was festivals, I started wondering, how I could express the "air" of festivals? I wanted to paint something universal in that anyone could remember as "festivals" from one's childhood. To me, festivals meant something bustling and speedy. Then, I thought probably it is expressible if I have the force of the pen tablet directly settled on the screen. This is how I painted this work. It would be an honor if something I tried to express in this art can be captured by my audience, too. Thank you very much to everyone involved in the holding of the Digital Creation Awards. |
