| This work seeks to present a vision of technology not divorced from the spiritual or the natural, but seamlessly integrated with the world - a world where humanity is an agency of positive change and evolution, a creative force whose benign presence is felt throughout the universe. |
[On receiving the award] |
The image I created for the Toray Digital Creation Awards attempts to show the universal sense of the "journey" or "adventure" that travel entails. A solitary character accompanied by an odd companion on a path in a forest somewhere: Who follows? Who leads? Are they meeting? Or are they parting? Is it the beginning of a journey? Or the end? The answers to these questions are inconsequential. A journey of some kind is manifest, and that, essentially, is at the basis of all great stories.
I am thrilled that this work has been selected for the Maywa Denki Award, and I look forward to participating in the next Toray Digital Creation Award. |
