Of course I'm very happy for the prize. First of all I wish to express my gratitude to Toray Industries for the Second Digital Creation Awards in promoting the art and culture on Internet. The news of the win makes me very happy. I'm very old now, and during my life I worked in sculpture, in oil painting, fresco, pastel, watercolor, etching. But I don't fear to work with a computer, now. I always looked for light and color. Now, in front of my computer, I found myself immersed in an extraordinary world of light and colors! There isn't much of difference between a paint-brush and a mouse, as the quality of a poem does not depend on the type of pen used.
Thus also in the dry technical virtual world we see to rise the art and the love for poetry, wich doesn't know its beginning and purpose but wich is able to spring up even from a computer if midwived by the mind and the imagination of human beings.
Thanks to Toray Industries again for this beautiful initiative in exploiting the power and flexibility of the new media for the diffusion of culture and art.
Often, the media only covers stories that will make money, so they treat art with disregard. I think that it will be a good investment for people if art is discussed intelligently in the new media, as Toray Industries do. It would benefit everyone.
