New media always imitates old media, but this time the level of
quality has improved to a surprising extent. The age of
computer-graphics-like illustrations, from realism to science fiction,
has come to an end. The techniques of expression still show the
influences of the past, but that is the challenge to the potential of
the medium. The winner of the Grand Prize, "Key," is simultaneously
decorative and full of mythological allegory. "Genetics" is fresh and
full of life. "Wild Fantasy" shows real competence. "Star Play" is a
manifestation of direct feelings. Computer graphics is becoming
increasingly interesting.
