On receiving the award |
 |
| As I was just about to take a seat as usual thinking (it's finally lunch), there was an all school announcement saying "Yonesaka-san, please come to the faculty room after lunch," and my name was in the list of students' names that were called out. "Did I do something wrong?" My head was filled with questions as to why I was called and felt very anxious. However, when I went to the faculty room, it turned out that it was about my work, which I drew in the first semester, winning an award. I couldn't believe it at first, but gradually I realized "this is a wonderful thing!" I like to study people and find differences in them. There are many things that I noticed and discovered through this study. When I want to communicate my discoveries to others, it's difficult for me to use words, so I often draw to express them. One of these drawings is this piece of work. A lot of feelings, thoughts, and questions are packed in this work. I would be happy if each one of the people who sees this drawing could think about various things, look back in their past, and live his/her future life. |
