DCA is a "Computer Picture" contest which Toray Industries, Inc hosts as part of its support for cultural activities.

DCA JUNIOR 2008
DCA JUNIOR is a Computer Picture (picture painted using a computer) contest. You are free to enter with any picture you draw on your computer. Please follow the rules for entering the competition. Those who do not follow the rules will not have their works considered by the judges, so make sure to read and follow the rules carefully.

Conditions of entry

*	It must be a picture that you have drawn yourself on a computer.
*	The work must not have been published anywhere before the announcement of results in March 2009.* * The entry should not have previously been published in any form, including on one's own Internet site.
*	You can draw a picture with your friends and enter as a group.
*	Entrants are limited to one entry per individual or group. However, it is also possible to enter a composite of multiple digital works. Composite works are those works consisting of 5 pieces or less created by one person or one group that are combined to form a single piece. A composite work consists of multiple works that must exist as a single piece of art in order to be understood.
*	The organizers accept no responsibility in the event of a protest or complaint from a third party concerning copyrights, and applicants must deal with all aspects of such action themselves, including any cost burden.

Standards of a suitable digital work

*	Still image that is digitally created on the computer.
*	File format JPEG format Still image that can be displayed through an Internet browser, such as Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.
*	Size No larger than 750 pixel and 1000pixel

*	Resolution 350dpi
*	File size No more than 1MB
*	Color Mode Either RGB or Grey Scale Mode Note: CMYK Mode will not be correctly displayed on the browser. Be certain to convert to either RGB or Grey Scale Mode, before submitting.
*	Each of the digital still images for the composite work must also meet the above standards.

Prizes

*	Grand Prize (one winner) Bookstore gift cards or product gift certificates worth 100,000 yen 20"Widescreen LCD Monitor 10 original Toraysee* of their prize work
*	Excellence Awards (three winners) Bookstore gift cards or product gift certificates worth 30,000 yen Astronomical telescope and astronomical sketching set 10 original Toraysee* of their prize work
*	Honorable Mention Awards (ten winners) 10 original Toraysee* of their prize work

Note:
*	Award winners must receive parental permission in order to receive the prizes.
*	A Toraysee* is a high-performance cleaner created from Toray's ultra-fine micro-fiber technology. It will be printed with the prize work and sent out to the prizewinner.(Go to Toraysee* website.)

Applicant Information
Applicant information will be managed in an appropriate manner by Toray Industries, Inc. Please note that information related to the DCA will be sent to all applicants. Also, before entering the contest, please note that details of prizewinners' name, age, email address, etc., will be made public. Please contact the Toray DCA Secretariat regarding any concerns you may have.

Selection of the prize works
The DCA Screening Committee chaired by Yoichiro Kawaguchi (CG Artist, Professor of The University of Tokyo Graduate School) will judge all the entries and select the winners.

Announcement of Results

Results will be published on the Toray DCA Junior website at the end of March 2009!
Prizewinners will be notified directly by the DCA Secretariat towards the end of February 2009.

How to Submit Entries

Entries can be submitted online on this website.

From October 1, 2008 [Wed] until midnight December 10, 2008 [Wed] (Japan time).

In entering your work, please fill out the application form available online, by following the directions given at each step. To follow the entry procedure, we recommend you use of the following browsers:

Note: There is a possibility that you cannot correctly complete your application procedure even in the case of the use in the recommended browser mentioned above. Please understand it beforehand.
